About Sloped Roofing

The most common sloped roofing application is asphalt shingles, which are typically laminated architectural shingles made from fibreglass and SBS. Older versions of these shingles were made with an organic paper felt mat soaked in asphalt, which curled and cracked as they aged, requiring frequent repairs.

Cedar shakes are another common application that provides a rustic look and ages well. They are common in many older neighbourhoods throughout the Calgary and Edmonton areas. Metal roofing is another application that’s becoming increasingly popular in Alberta, but it can be susceptible to rust and breaking seals, requiring occasional repairs.
