At A. Clark Roofing & Siding LP., we take an active interest in making our community a better place. Because our Edmonton and Sherwood Park roofing contractors live, work, and play in the same community as our wonderful residential and commercial clients, we are always looking for ways to give back.
Recently, on May 26th, several of our staff members volunteered their Saturday with the not-for-profit social care agency Hope Mission. We could not be more proud to have worked with a group making such a difference in our amazing province.
Hope Mission was founded in Edmonton in 1929 and has since expanded to serve the communities of Calgary, Red Deer, and Wetaskiwin as well. The charity provides important services in all four areas for people in need.
In Edmonton, Hope Mission serves over 1,000 free meals a day at Hope Mission Centre. The charity also distributes clothing, provides emergency shelter, and helps individuals find permanent homes. They offer 12-step addiction recovery programs to men and women struggling with addiction, as well as after-school programs for children and safe spaces for young people to hang out.
In Calgary, Hope Mission works out of a hub in the Forest Lawn area. They provide community meals, hot school lunches in a number of schools, and meals for children and youth who take part in the charity’s weekly programs. Hundreds of children participate in these programs, where they also receive the support and guidance of adult mentors.
In Red Deer and Wetaskiwin, Hope Mission places a special focus on feeding and caring for children. In Red Deer, the charity runs Kids In Action and Youth In Action programs, as well as family dinners during holidays for the kids in these programs. Wetaskiwin also has a Kids In Action program, as well as a Food for Thought program which provides healthy lunches to children at 13 Wetaskiwin schools.
Finally, Hope Mission offers children the summer camp experience at three beautiful locations: Brightwood Ranch (for Edmonton area children), Camp Hope (Calgary and Red Deer), and Bethany Homes (Wetaskiwin). These affordable camps provide kids with the chance to take part in activities such as horseback riding, gardening, sports, climbing, and more.
Hope Mission is always graciously welcoming of donations to support the work that they do. If you would like to help them out, you can make either a one-time or a reoccurring donation through their website. All donations go towards the programs and projects described above.
At A. Clark Roofing & Siding LP., we believe that Edmonton roofing companies should play their part in helping the community as well. To continue supporting Hope Mission, we will be donating $65 from every roof our Edmonton roofers install this year towards their incredible initiatives. We will be doing this in celebration of our 65th year in business and as a recognition of how good the Edmonton community has been to us during this time.
